How to Hide an App on HTC One E8
Each HTC One E8 owner installs many applications on their smartphone. Some of them contain confidential information that should be hidden from other people. Therefore, such applications must be hidden on HTC One E8, and this can be done in several ways.
Standard tools
Depending on the version of the Android operating system, your HTC One E8 may have standard application hiding tools. So, on older versions of the system, hiding applications from the general menu is available without directly deleting them:
- Open the Apps menu.
- Hold the finger on the icon of the desired program.
- In the menu that appears, select Hide Applications.
On newer versions of Android, mobile device manufacturers are adding a "Personal Space" or "Second Space" feature, which allows you to create a copy of your workspace that is different from the standard one. So, in normal mode, some applications will be placed on the desktop, and others in the personal mode. To do this, you need to:
- Open your phone settings.
- Go to Special Features.
- Go to Second space.
- Click Turn on Second Space.
Next, you can remove programs from the main desktop, as they will continue to be available in the second space, to open which you will need to enter a password.
If you need to hide system applications, then they can be hidden without using additional options:
- Open your phone settings.
- Go to Apps.
- Go to Manage apps.
- Click the three-point button.
- In the menu that appears, select Hide system services.
If this function is not in the context menu, you can disable one of the standard programs in another way:
- Open your HTC One E8 settings.
- Go to Applications.
- Select the desired program.
- Click Disable.
If done correctly, the app will no longer appear on the desktop, but will continue to be available through the Play Market or phone settings. You can also use additional methods to hide applications.
Additional methods
You can always use third-party software designed to hide other applications installed on your smartphone. Among the freely available utilities, it is worth paying attention to:
- Calculator Vault;
- App Hider;
- Apex Launcher;
All these applications are similar, so let's consider the sequence of actions for App Hider:
- Install the app via Google Play.
- Launch App Hider.
- Click the Add App button.
- Select the desired programs and click the Import Apps button.
- Hold your finger on the application icon and click the Hide button.
The program will disappear from the desktop and will not appear even in the HTC One E8 settings, but it will remain inside the App Hider, through which you can run it.
