the Xiaomi ZMi Z1 is a versatile simple phone that gets the job done without much fan fare. It's made from strong plastic and has a large battery that can keep you going for a good few days. It's an android based operating system with a touchpad making it a good mix of functionality and practicality. I don't use the translating app but it is probably very helpful for someone who speaks chinese primarily. The user interface however is a little dated with very little opportunity of customization. i wish it would allow to reorganize the apps and hide the ones i don't use. it allows for two sim cards, or one sim and one sd card. The screen is reasonably bright. In english writing is set to T9 which can be cumbersome, so if your going to do alot of texting it's not so suitable. All in all it's a pretty solid buy.
